The following checklist has been designed to make your admission to Oceans easier and less stressful. Please refer to it as a general
guideline and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact our Admissions department by phone, fax, or email.
- Provincial Care Card
- Driver’s Licence ( if Canadian resident)
- Passport (if non-resident of Canada)
- Toiletries (alcohol free)
- Comfortable clothing sufficient for 7 days
- Appropriate reading material
- Money for incidentals (will be kept in safe)
- All prescription medications
- Sleepwear: slippers, t-shirt & shorts or pajamas
- Weather-appropriate clothing and recreation
wear ie: rain wear and sneakers
- Travel Insurance for a 60 day stay in Canada (applicable to non-residents of Canada)
- If you smoke, bring cigarettes as tobacco products are not sold on premises, nor is smoking allowed
except in designated smoking areas.
- Drug paraphernalia
- Clothing suggestive of alcohol or drug use (including names
of bars or taverns),
- or clothing that promotes sexism, racism, or homophobia
- Electronic equipments: cell phones, laptops, palm pilots, pagers, amplifiers for
musical instruments, portable TVs, stereos, Walkman, headphones, etc.
- Cameras or video equipment
- Heating pad or electric blankets
- Weapons, including pocket knives
- Food, sweets, beverages of any sort (including coffee and tea)
- Over-the-counter medications, vitamins or herbal remedies
- Valuable jewellery or expensive clothing
- Pornography
- School or office work
- Mouthwash or other toiletries containing alcohol
Non-prescription medications, mood-altering drugs, or medication regarded as counter-therapeutic by our medical staff will not be returned.
All packages must be opened in the presence of a member of the treatment team.
Luggage limited to 1 suitcase and 1 carry-on bag.
Oceans is a scent-free environment
Safekeeping for money, passports, and airline tickets is available. However, we are not responsible for lost or stolen jewellery or other valuable items.
Here at Oceans, we understand that seeing family and support persons is important. Your personal goals for recovery are of utmost importance to us and, with the guidance of your primary therapist, your visitation needs will be included in your individualized treatment program.
